Rsearch project “Modular Webcam-Based Architecture for Multi-Parameter Sensing” completed
We are pleased to announce the successful completion of the research project “Modular Webcam-Based Architecture for Multi-Parameter Sensing” by Hikmat Ghathe, which was conducted as part of a thesis supervised by our chair.
Desk work associated with prolonged sitting and visual strain is linked to musculoskeletal complaints and reduced well-being. Existing solutions address these issues but typically focus on a single function, such as posture reminders or micro-break prompts. In this project, Hikmat developed a webcam-based sensing architecture that simultaneously measures posture, gaze, blink rate, and heart rate to provide users with feedback.
The project contributes to our chair's research area of “AI in Human Physiology”, which explores how artificial intelligence can be used to sense and respond to physiological states in everyday settings.
