New Publication in Electronic Markets

We are pleased to announce that Prof. Nadj, together with his co-authors, has published a new research article as a Fundamentals contribution in Electronic Markets, one of the leading scientific journals covering diverse aspects of the digital economy:

Nadj, M., Maedche, A., Riedl, R., Seitz, J., & Schultz, T. (2026). Biosignal-adaptive platforms. Electronic Markets 36(38).

In this publication, the authors conceptualize biosignal-adaptive platforms (BAPs), and the paper makes three key contributions:

  • It develops a morphological box that captures the technical and functional complexity of BAPs.
  • It maps existing research onto this framework, highlighting configurations currently examined in e-commerce, auctions, and streaming services.
  • It identifies technical, methodological, ethical, and societal challenges and offers guidance for responsible, human-centered design.

Together, these contributions provide an understanding of BAP’s capabilities and a foundation for future research and practice in electronic markets.
